This handbook has been written to provide students with important information about the vocational education and training (VET) qualifications offered by AIET as well as your rights and responsibilities as a VET student. AIET is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), registered with the national regulator Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Our national RTO number is 121314.
Students should take the time to study this handbook carefully and ask their Trainer and Assessor (VET Teacher) if they are unsure of any details. The contents of this handbook in many instances represents the key points of various VET policies and procedures developed by AIET.
VET is VET. There is no difference in the requirements or rigor to issue a qualification to a student if the VET program is delivered at school or through a TAFE or private training provider. The students are receiving a nationally recognized credential within their senior secondary program and while the program may be at the introductory level, all the national standards and regulations apply.
AIET sets an expectation of quality, not only for the integrity of the certificate being undertaken and awarded but for the benefit of students.
Teachers who will be training and assessing the VET program, must be approved and registered by AIET prior to the commencement of the program.
We support schools – working with us is a true partnership

Industry Consultation
AIET ensures that the training provided to students is current and relevant. This is achieved through disciplined industry consultations including the periodic review of training and assessment strategies and assessment tools ensuring that they accurately reflect the needs of industry and the expectation of employers.
Outcomes of our industry engagement inform training and assessments, skills and competency requirements of trainers and assessment practices. Training and Assessment Strategies will be updated as evidence of such industry consultations and where possible, endorsed by industry practitioners who are relevant to the particular training package.
